Malabrigo is a family owned yarn company in Uruguay and Peru that strives to employ women that might have trouble finding employment otherwise. While the company is relatively new (founded in 2005), it is well-loved around the world. The best part? Malabrigo does not practice muelsing and when the company sources outside merino, they make sure it's muelsing-free as well.
Caracol is a bulky thick-and-thin single made of delightfully soft superwash merino wool, and then criss-crossed it with a binder thread (either black or white.) The yarn is then dyed. Caracol knits up into a cozy, fluffy fabric with a ton of texture and visual interest.
Due to the dyeing process, there may be variation between photos shown and specific color batches.
